In a landmark achievement for digital inclusion in coastal Bangladesh, Songjog Foundation has provided free freelancing and digital skills training to over 1,000 youth in Cox’s Bazar district. The program, supported by the Internet Society Foundation, targeted young people from underserved communities who lacked access to formal employment pathways.
Participants received training in digital marketing, graphic design, and freelancing platforms — enabling them to connect with global clients and generate income from their own communities. Many graduates have already started generating independent income through platforms like Fiverr and Upwork.
The initiative demonstrates how strategic skills investment can transform prospects for youth in climate-vulnerable coastal areas, creating pathways to economic stability that aren’t dependent on traditional weather-sensitive livelihoods.
