Financial hardship, geographic isolation and limited health information prevent many people from receiving timely and appropriate care.
Songjog Foundation responds through community medical services, preventive health education, treatment assistance, referrals, professional caregiving, mental-health support and long-term residential care.
By connecting immediate assistance with continuing care, we seek to improve health, dignity and well-being for underserved individuals and families.

Barriers to Progress
- Financial barriers: Treatment, medicines, diagnostic services, transportation and long-term care can create costs that vulnerable households cannot afford.
- Geographic barriers: People in remote villages, riverine areas and islands may have limited access to qualified providers and health facilities.
- Limited preventive information: Insufficient access to reliable health information can delay prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
- Shortage of trained caregivers: Families may not have access to professionally trained support for older adults, people with disabilities or recovering patients.
- Mental-health stigma: People experiencing trauma, anxiety or grief may face stigma and limited access to appropriate support.
- Discontinuity of care: Patients may lack access to referrals, medicine, rehabilitation and follow-up support after an initial consultation.

The Songjog Response
- Community medical services: We bring consultations, screenings, medicines and health information closer to underserved communities.
- Critical-treatment assistance: Medihelp provides financial or logistical support for eligible individuals facing serious medical needs.
- Preventive health education: Our programs promote informed practices related to hygiene, nutrition, early detection and timely care-seeking.
- Referral support: Where possible, patients requiring specialized care are connected with appropriate providers and facilities.
- Professional caregiving: We prepare caregivers through medical, practical and psychosocial training.
- Long-term residential care: Songjog Carehome provides safe accommodation, nutrition, medical monitoring, personal care and social engagement.
- Mental-health support: NIRBAN combines psychoeducation, coping strategies, peer support and accessible mental-health resources.
